Hiring a Private Investigator

Like hiring an Attorney, hiring a Private Investigator is an important decision. You should talk with the Government Agency that regulates them in the area where their office is located as well as where the work is to be performed. Call the better business bureau and chamber of commerce to make sure no complaints have been filed against that Company. FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE regulates Florida Private Investigators.

Are they members of any Professional Associations?

How long have they been in business?

How many cases have they handled like yours?

What are their rates?

Do they require a retainer?

What happens if they accomplish your assignment for less than the retainer, do you receive the difference?

Do they furnish a report, photographs and or video?

Do they require you to sign a contract?

Just like attorneys Private Investigators must make certain they do not have a conflict of interest, before they accept your assignment.

EX-CEL INVESTIGATIONS® since 1974 has completed over 6,000 investigations and served more than 100,000 legal documents.
